Currency Exchange: Foreign currency is widely used in the country as well as South African rand. But if you want to fill up at the filling staion and eat in the local restaurant rather change the foreign currency into Metical.
Tips: In Mozambique it is customary to pay tips. In a restaurant: about 10% of the total bill (including drinks). Porter services: about $ 0.5 per piece of luggage. Driver-Guide: $ 1-2 per person per day for work.
Voltage: 230-240 volts with a triple (South African type) outlet. All hotels have European sockets and adapters.
Drinking water: Tap water in Mozambique is not recommended for drinking. Please buy bottled water.
Car rental: In Mozambique left-hand traffic (the same as in South Africa). Speed limit: within the city - 60 km per hour, on the highway-100 km per hour. You must have an international driver's license and a credit card to rent a car. Car rental locations only in major cities and airports.
