Zambia is located in the tropical belt of Africa from 10 to 18 degrees of southern latitude and on a plateau with an altitude of about 1300 meters above sea level.
The climate in general with 3 main seasons: warm and humid from December to April, cool and dry from May to August, hot and dry from September to November. The country is bordered by Angola, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi, Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of Congo and has no access to the ocean.
Zambia has many lakes and small rivers. Its territory is the source of two large rivers in Africa - the Zambezi and Congo. Zambia is a very good safari destination with well known Nastional Parks such as South Luangwa, Lower Zambezi, Kafue and Kasanka. But perhaps the main attraction of Zambia is Victoria Falls, located 10 km from Livingstone town (once it was the capital of Northern Rhodesia - as Zambia used to be called).
Victoria Falls is recognized as one of the 7 wonders of the world, here the water of the Zambezi River falls from a height of 105 meters and a width of 1700 meters.

Visa: A visa is required to enter Zambia. An entry visa can be obtained at the port of entry or at the consulates of Zambia. If you enter Zambia from Zimbabwe over a bridge over the Zambezi River at Victoria Falls, then keep in mind that the passage is open from 6:00 to 20:00.
Credit Cards: VISA, MASTER CARD are accepted for payment only in large hotels and shops. ATMs are only in major cities of Zambia.
Foreign Exchange: Free circulation of foreign currency in the country. In hotels and shops are accepted dollars, euros, pounds sterling, South African rand. Currency can be exchanged in the banks and Bureau De Change only. Banking hours: 8:15-14:30 (weekdays), 8:15-10:30 (on Saturdays).
Tips: In Zambia it is customary to pay tips. In the restaurant: 10% of the total bill (including drinks). Porter services: about $1 per piece of luggage. Driver guide: $ 2-3 per person per day for work.
Voltage: 230 volts with a triple (English type) socket. All hotels have European sockets and adapters.
Drinking water: Water from the tap in the main cities and reserves is clean and safe to drink. In small towns we recommend using bottled water.
Car rental: Zambian left-hand traffic. Speed limit: within the city - 60 km per hour, on the highway - 100-120 km per hour. You must have an international driver's license and a credit card to rent a car. Car rental locations only in major cities and airports.
