Cameroon Safari. Climb Mount Cameroon and Beach in Limbe
Detailed programm
Day 1
Arrival in Douala
Arrive to Douala International airport, meet and greet with our guide and transfer to Foyer de Marine for immediate briefing followed by diner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 2
Douala – Buea – Hut II
Our trekking expedition to the 4092m of Mount Cameroon begins today. After early breakfast, we drive directly to Buea where trekking begins. We’ll pass through vast banana and gum plantations of the CDC before arriving to Buea. Upon our arrival to Buea we start our trekking slowly via secondary forest, savannah until we reach Hut II where we will spend the night.
Day 3
Hut II – Summit – Mannspring
After early breakfast, we continue our trekking to Hut III and next to the summit. At the summit, we take photos, celebrate achieving 4092m. This is one of the highest peaks in Africa and highest mountain in Cameroon. Here sometimes with temperatures below zero one can still experience hot lava, visit craters as well as having panoramic view of Douala city and Malabo in a good visibility. We later take another track by descending to Mannspring where we spend the night.
Day 4
Mannspring – Buea – Limbe
Today, we descend gradually to return to Buea. Upon arrival in Buea, we head directly to Limbe passing through the Tole tea estate. Our trekking expedition on the roof of Mt. Cameroon is crowned by relaxation at Seme New Beach. Diner and night at Seme New Beach Hotel.
Day 5
Limbe
As we spend our time relaxing to this part of the 400 km coastline so do we embrace other interesting attractions for continues unforgettable experience. Our visit today begins by hiking and visiting the results of the 1999 volcanic eruption at Bakingili just close to our hotel. Next, we visit the Limbe Wildlife centre where we see many primates followed by guided walk around the Limbe botanic garden. We also visit the fishermen village at Mbonjo and the handicraft shop before retiring to our hotel for relaxation at the beach and night.
Day 6
Limbe – Douala – Return flight
Relaxing morning at the beach. Early in the afternoon, we drive to Douala for a city tour before transferred to the airport for return flight home or continue travel in Africa.
