Central Africa. Gorillas and Pygmies – Safari in CAR and Cameroon

Douala Arrive to Doula airport (Cameroon), meet with our guide and transfer to the Hotel for quick briefing, dinner and overnight at Foyer De Marine 3* (HB)

Douala – Yaoundé – Bertoua Very early morning breakfast and we depart in 4 x 4 vehicles to Bertoua via Yaoundé. We have 584 km driving today, but this is no issue, because the road is tarred before we traverse the forests of the Centre Plateau. By the late afternoon we arrive to Bertoua, check in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight at Mansa Hotel 3* (HB)

Bertoua -Yokadouma The real part of adventure starts today, with a long driving on gravel roads through the rainforest. Perpetual encounter with loaded timber trucks on the way. We arrive to Yokadouma in the evening and check in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight at Elephant Hotel 3* (HB)

Yokadouma – Bayang We depart after breakfast very early in the morning. We head on to Central African Republic. After entry formalities, we drive on a dirt road and reach Bayanga in the evening. Check-in at the lodge. Dinner and overnight at Doli Lodge 3* (FB)

Bayanga At the beautiful Dzanga-Sangha National Park we will undertake some of the most exciting activities of the whole trip, with our pygmy hosts as guides and care takers. We will visit the Dzanga Baï – famous for its numerous forest elephants, bongos, sitatungas, buffaloes and grey parrots. We as well will get initiated into net hunting and medicinal plants by the pygmies. The most exclusive activity is the lowland gorilla tracking, which is undertaken in small groups together with the gorilla habituation team of Baï Hokou – an experience of a life time. Bayanga Relaxing day in a jungle of Central Africa, visit to Pygmies village and Gorilla tracking at Dsanga-Sangha National park. Dinner and overnight at Doli Lodge (FB)

Bayanga – Yokadouma Early breakfast, transfer to Yokadouma and departure for Cameroon via Mboy. Arrive to days final destination in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Elephant Hotel (HB)

Yokadouma – Bertoua After breakfast, we drive further to Bertoua which we reach in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Mansa Hotel (HB)

Bertoua – Yaounde After breakfast, we drive towards to Capital of Cameroon – Yaounde, where we will go on a short city tour visiting the Mfou Gorilla Sanctuary. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Merina 3* (HB)

Yaounde – Douala After breakfast, we drive via Edea to Douala. Short city tour will take place through Doula. Day rooms will be arranged to freshen up and later the to Douala airport for your international flight home
