ARRIVAL On arrival to Libreville the capital city of Gabon you will be met by a representative and assisted through customs and /immigration. Transfer to hotel. Overnight at Residence Hotel Du Phare Hotel (BB) |

Day 2 |
EVENGUE ISLAND After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Port-Gentil. From Port-Gentil’s airport, you will be transferred to the harbour for your regular boat shuttle to Omboue departing at 9am. You should arrive in Omboue by 12.30pm. After check in at the lodge, you will visit small gorilla sanctuary on the island. After lunch you will meet with our eco –guides and experts to explain the gorilla program. We will start with a short bush walk that leads to the gorilla family living area, where you will encounter the gorillas. In the afternoon, you will have free time to discover the island on foot or by kayak, or simply relax on a terrace of your lodge with glass of local beer. Overnight at Evengue Lodge (FB) |
Day 3 |
MISSION ST. ANNE – MPIVIE River After breakfast, you will take a boat trip over the Mpivie River (means-black water). You will visit the small town of St.Anne to look at the iron church built by Gustav Eiffel in the 1800’s. Designed and built in Paris, it was shipped in sections to Gabon over the water, and eventually using elephants to pull it out. Other interests here are the missionary post and the ‘bamboo cathedral’ where ceremonies are held occasionally. In the afternoon continue on the boat through some dense rainforest to see more wild animals. After two hours, you will be transferred on a 4×4 vehicle or by boat to the lodge with a game drive en route. Overnight at Loango Lodge (FB) |
Day 4 |
TASSI SAVANNAH CAMP / AKAKA FOREST CAMP After breakfast you will drive in 4×4 vehicle to Tassi /Louri Area (in wet season) or Akaka Camp (in dry season). During the drive to Tassi, you will encounter elephants, red river hogs, buffaloes, and an abundance of birds. The camp is surrounded by primary and secondary forests. You may also visit the Max Planck Institute to get familiar with the habituation program of the gorillas and chimpanzees. In the dry season, the boat departs for a 4hour journey to Akaka across large lagoons. Akaka is one of the most remote parts of Loango National Park. Overnight at Akaka Camp (FB) |
Day 5 |
TASSI SAVANNAH CAMP / AKAKA FOREST CAMP After breakfast you will go on a safari at the Tassi Camp where you will spot gorillas and chimpanzees. You may also take excursions to Louri area where you will see buffaloes, hippos and elephants on the beach. At the Akaka the Forest camp is situated right in the heart of the tropical rainforest. Akaka is a good starting point for excursions like forest walks, kayaking on the Rembo Ngowe and Rembo Echira rivers or motorized boat trips along the rivers. You will see the migrating forest buffalos and elephants. Overnight at Akaka Camp (FB) |
Day 6 |
LOANGO NATIONAL PARK We leave Akana and travel to Loango National Park arriving in time for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, you will have a the following choices: to discover other parts of the park by car into the savannah, on foot into the mangroves, by kayak over the lagoon or by boat along the shore. You will have an opportunity of joining an archaeology research team specializing in whales, manatees, leatherbacks and crocodiles to discover more about the Loango projects. BACK to LIBREVILLE After breakfast depart check out and depart around 10 am.Transfer to Omboué by car. Lunch at Olako Hotel. Regular boat shuttle departure at 1pm. Arrival in Port-Gentil by 4.30pm. Transfer to airport and flight to Libreville around 6.30pm. Transfer to Hotel. Overnight at Résidence Hotel Du Phare (HB) |
Day 8 |
DEPARTURE Leisurely day at the beach. You may extend your stay in Libreville or Sao Tome and Principe on the beach. Guided Libreville tour is available upon request. In the evening, you will be transferred to the airport for your international flight home or continue your travel in Africa. |
