Madagascar. Lemurs, Pangalanes Canal and Beaches of Sainte Marie Island of Madagascar East Coast

Arrive Antananarivo. Meet guide and transfer to Au Bois Vert near Ivato airport. If time permits optional excursion of Antananarivo. Dinner and overnight at Au Bois Vert Hotel 4* (BB)

Breakfast. Drive to Andasibe (150 km). On a way stop at Pyraras Private Reserve and view different chameleons, geckos and frogs of Madagascar. Arrive to the lodge at lunchtime. Afternoon visit to Vakona Private Reserve to see and interact with different varieties of lemurs.. Dinner and overnight at Vakona Lodge 3* (DBB) **In Andasibe, people are enjoying the freshness of the Andasibe forest and more particularly of the Analamazaotra Special Reserve while discovering a variety of endemic species, among which the well-known Indri Indri the largest lemur worldwide. Andasibe is around 3 hours drive from Antananarivo towards the Eastern coast of the Island**.

Breakfast. Early morning visit to Analamazaotra reserve. In the reserve you will walk in the forest and look for lemurs in their natural environment. Short lunch in local restaurant after the walk. Depart for Manambato in eastern direction. Boat transfer to Akanin’ Ny Nofy. Arrive to the lodge and rest. Dinner at the lodge. After dinner a short walk in the forest to find smallest lemur Ai-Ai. Overnight at Palmarium Lodge 3* (DBB) **Emjoy the beauty of the Pangalanes Canal – the longest hand made canal built during colonization times to serve as the economic lung for the region. Primarily, this tour will bring you to discover the soft sand of Manambato where a peaceful swim will be most beneficial for you; then, you will cross the Rasoabe lakes enjoying the smell of blooming spices and resting in the heavenly nest of the Ampitabe lake where the ‘Palmarium’ will welcome you with its 100 000 palm-trees specific to Madagascar. Quite a number of different species of lemurs also live in this private reserve in their natural habitat and the most prominent here are Sifaka and Indri.**.

Breakfast. At the breakfast you can interact with the lemurs living here on the island where lodge is situated. Morning visit of Palmarium Reserve and you will be looking for 6 different types of lemurs. Then you will take a boat transfer to Tamatave along Pangalanes Canal.. From Tamatave you will be transfered for another 90 km to small village of Mahambo. Here you will rest for a night in La Pirogue lodge right at the bay of Indian Ocean. Dinner and overnight at La Pirogue Lodge 3* (DBB)

Breakfast. Swim in warm waters of Indian ocean and relax. Then at 10-00 take ferry El Condor which departs almost from the lodge for Sainte Marie Island. Arrive to Sainte-Marie Island in the afternoon. Meet guide and transfer to Princess Bora Lodge. Relax at the pool, swim in the ocean or explore local reefs. Dinner and overnight at Princesse Bora Lodge 4* (DBB) **Sainte Marie Island is situated in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Toamasina. It is a mystical island with relics of the past that are still alive and authentic as Sainte Marie used to be the ideal shelter for the bygone pirates. The island is blessed with a luxuriant vegetation where the plantations of spices (vanilla, pepper, cinnamon, coffee, clove) seem to melt within the virgin forests without any damage being caused to any of them. Sainte Marie is also associated with leisure since it comprises more than 50 kilometres of breathtaking beaches. These beaches are naturally protected by coral reefs, which is ideal for swimming. Also during the season of the humpback whales (from July to September) you will have a chance to see these large beautiful creatures of the ocean**. .
