Day 1

Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe Arrival at Victoria Falls Airport in Zimbabwe you will be met and transferred to Lokuthula Lodges. This afternoon you will explore the mighty Victoria Falls on a guided tour. In the evening you will meet with your guide at the Lodge at 18h00 for your pre-departure meeting. Accommodation: Lokuthula Lodges or similar (chalets with shared bathrooms, swimming pool & bar)

Day 2

Victoria Falls to Matobo This morning we head to Big Cave Camp in the Matobo area. Matobo Hills is an area of exquisite beauty, steeped in tribal history, ancient mystery and dramatic rock landscapes. The national park has been given UNESCO World Heritage status and is home to both white and black rhinoceros, sable antelope and the world’s densest population of leopard. Birdlife is prolific and includes the highest concentration of black eagles in the world. Once the home of the San (Bushman), this area contains the richest source of the rock art found anywhere. Not only is it here that the Ndebele people buried their great king, Mzilikazi, but Cecil John Rhodes was also laid to rest on the “Hill of the Benevolent Spirit” or “Worlds View” as named by him. We visit the National Park and Rhodes grave. Accommodation: Big Cave Camp a or similar (chalets with on-suite bathroom with hot water)

Day 3

Matobo to Great Zimbabwe We leave the beauty of Matobo Hills and travel to Great Zimbabwe via Gweru. This afternoon we get to explore the magnificent ruined city of Great Zimbabwe, the largest stone structure ever built south of the Sahara. It was the base for a succession of kings and rulers spanning four centuries. We then check into our accommodation for the night, which overlooks the peaceful Lake Mutirikwe. Accommodation: Camping at Norma Jeane’s Lake View Resort or similar (tents, communal ablutions with hot water, restaurant & bar)

Day 4

Great Zimbabwe to Chimanimani National Park Today we make our way to Chimanimani National Park. Situated within the Eastern Highlands of the country, it incorporates the magnificent Chimanimani Mountains, an ancient barrier of jagged granite rock, forming the border with Mozambique. We spend two nights in this pristine environment where we will enjoy nature walks to the Bridal Falls as well as the other waterfalls and pools that cover the area. Wildlife species found in the park include eland, sable, bushbuck, blue duiker, klipspringer and an occasional leopard. Accommodation: Camping at Chimaninmani or similar (mountain huts, communal ablutions with hot water)

Day 5

Chimanimani National Park Today we are in Chimanimani National Park (Situated within the Eastern Highlands). We spend time on safari enjoy nature walks. Accommodation: Camping at Chimaninmani or similar (mountain huts, communal ablutions with hot water)

Day 6

Chimanimani National Park to Antelope Park We continue our journey to Antelope Park where we spend the next two nights. Antelope Park is home to the African Lion Environmental Research Trust (ALERT) and you will have the opportunity to partake in the numerous activities on offer, such as lion walks, night encounters with lions and elephant swimming! (All optional activities for own expense) Accommodation: Camping at Antelope Park or similar (tents, communal ablutions with hot water, swimming pool and restaurant area)

Day 7

Antelope Park We are in Antelope Park today and all optional activities for own expenses. Accommodation: Camping at Antelope Park or similar (tents, communal ablutions with hot water, swimming pool and restaurant area)

Day 8

Antelope Park to Hwange National Par After breakfast we bid farewell to Antelope Park and make our way Hwange National Park. This afternoon we pay a visit to the Painted Dogs Conservation Centre to witness the work that is done to protect these endangered species. Hwange National Park is one of Africa’s finest havens for wildlife and is home to vast herds of elephant, buffalo, and zebra as well as a very large concentration of giraffe. It is also home to many predators and endangered species plus very large and varied birdlife. The whole of the next day is spent exploring this magnificent area. Accommodation: Nehimba Safari Lodge (chalets with on-suite bathroom and outside shower with hot water, swimming pool & bar area)

Day 9

Hwange National Par After breakfast we depart for morning game drive in Hwange National Park. After lunch a bit of rest and we depart for afternoon game drive. Accommodation: Nehimba Safari Lodge (chalets with on-suite bathroom and outside shower with hot water, swimming pool & bar area)

Day 10

Hwange National Park to Victoria Falls The last day of our safari is spent in Victoria Falls. There is time to partake in one of the numerous activities on offer, do some last minute curio shopping, or simply relax at the lodge, a perfect ending to an adventure filled safari. Accommodation: Lokuthula Lodges or similar (chalets with shared bathrooms, swimming pool & bar)

Day 11

Victoria Falls Our safari ends after breakfast. We hope to welcome you again one day on another of our African adventures.
